Asus Zenbook UX21A and UX31A little brother are among the first models ultrabook that they switch to a new computing platform Ivy Bridge, led by ultra-efficient Intel processors made using 22 nm manufacturing process.
Both models receive a matte finish screens, more comfortable to use in well-lit, and the top end make the transition to full HD resolution. New screen resolution 1920x1080 pixels using IPS technology are available for both the 13.3-inch diagonal and UX31A and 11.6-inch diagonal UX21A version. 350 cd/m2 brightness touch screen types for IPS and 300 cd/m2 LCD version if you opt for the budget, in which case resolution is limited to 1600x900 pixels 1366x768 pixels and UX31A UX21A model.
Ivy Bridge processors are installed in low-voltage supply from Intel, the models from the Core i3 and i7 processors with TDP of only 17W consumption:

RAM installed in quantities of 2 GB or 4 GB RAM DDR3L type is being able to operate at a frequency of 1600 MHz reasonable than using a low voltage to 1.35V (1.5V for a way to DDR3 average). The resulting energy savings bring a little extra in terms of autonomy. Also to maximize energy efficiency, traditional hard drive gives way to a device interface SATA III SSD, available in versions with 256 GB and 512 GB storage capacity.
To accelerate 3D and video playback are provided our core Intel HD Graphics 4000.

Asus weighs 1.3 Kg Zenbook UX31A, measuring 18.3 mm thick and is expected to arrive in stores at a price of about $ 1,100.
11.6-inch screen version, Zenbook UX21A, weighs 1.1 kg and measures 17 mm thick. The selling price is also slightly lower, reaching $ 1,050.
